Udupi Sri Krishna Math to open doors for devotees from September 28

Udupi: The Udupi Sri Krishna Math, which was closed down for devotees in wake of the Corona pandemic is all set to welcome devotees from September 28.

Paryaya Admar Math Manager Govinda Raj, in a press meet said that restrictions have been in place since March 22 and now with the temple opening its doors, strict guidelines will be in place for devotees seeking entry into the temple.

He informed that the ‘Krishna Darshan’ will be allowed only through the nine ‘Kindis’ (windows).

The guidelines are as follows.

*Devotees will be given entry from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm.

* The devotees coming to the temple will have to enter the temple from the northern gate of the Rajangana.

*Pilgrims who wish to perform the Lord Krishna darshan must pass through the entrance to the Rajangana, through the gateway to the Garuda temple and walk down the stairs leading to the Krishna temple.

*Local devotees can enter the Sri Krishna Math and receive darshan from the car street on the way up to Madhwa Lake, next to the service office.

*For security purposes, local devotees who wish to enter through Gate 10 should obtain a compulsory entry pass from the Sri Krishna Math. 

*Currently only the darshan is allowed.

*The devotees are requested not to chant mantras, recitations or speak to each other in the Sri Krishna Math premises. They have to remain silent.

*Wearing masks inside the temple premises, maintaining social distancing, usage of sanitisers are mandatory.

*Senior citizens and little children have been asked not to visit the temple during this crucial period as they are highly vulnerable to infections.

*The meals and theertha prasadam will be served to devotees soon depending on the condition of the pandemic.
