Vijayendra Warns Against Unauthorized BJP Rally in Davangere
Karnataka BJP president B Y Vijayendra has expressed disapproval of a proposed rally in Davangere, reportedly planned by senior party leaders including former minister M P Renukacharya, for February next year.
Addressing reporters on Sunday, Vijayendra said, “I have seen media reports about a rally being organized by some of our leaders. I do not support such unilateral moves. Party workers are already in a state of confusion, and any unauthorized activities will only worsen the situation.”
Stressing the importance of unity, he urged party members to adhere to the established framework. “The BJP state unit operates like a family. Any conventions or rallies must have formal approval from the party leadership,” he said, appealing to the leaders involved to halt their plans.
To address concerns and streamline party activities, Vijayendra announced plans to convene a meeting with senior leaders. “It is my responsibility as state president to take everyone into confidence and strengthen the party at the grassroots level,” he wrote on X.
His remarks come amidst growing speculation about factionalism within the party, but Vijayendra has reiterated the need for solidarity and disciplined operations to enhance the BJP’s organizational strength in Karnataka.
