Mangaluru: A blood donation camp was organised here at Kulshekar church hall by Holy cross church Kulshekar and ICYM Kulshekar and district unit of Indian Red Cross organisation here on Sunday.
Udupi District Information and Broadcasting Officer Rohini addressing the gathering at the camp, said that blood donation camps are essential to create awareness in the society.
Rev Fr Valerian Pinto presided over the programme and recalled the day he had donated blood once and saved a life. The blood donation programme is beyond religion, he said.
The district Red Cross unit president Prabhakar Shriyan spoke on the importance of Blood donation in the present society. Blood bank unit president Dr Ronald Anil Fernandes explained aims and objectives of Red cross.
ICYM convenor Sushil Noronha, Church council secretary Michel Dsouza, assistant parish priest Fr Vishal Monis and Anil Lobo, Mangaluru Catholic diocese Secretary M P Noronha, ICYM president Jithesh Lasrado were present.
ICYM secretary Ansita Dsouza welcomed the gathering. Seema Dsouza thanked everyone. Manisha Crasta compered the programme.
