Couple pays Rs 5 lakh For wedding catering, gets duped with a thermocol cake

thermo cakeWeddings are probably one of the happiest days of your life. Wedding planning, perhaps not as much. Planning a wedding is often stressful, especially if something has to be meticulously planned to the last detail.

Often, to counter doing everything yourself, people hire wedding planners, who do your entire job for you. However, this couple in Philippines will perhaps make you reconsider going to a wedding planner.

A couple in Pasig City, in Manila, Philippines who paid 140,000 pesos, or 5 lakh Indian Rupees, not only faced bad service but crippling embarrassment at the hand of their wedding planner.

According to a news report in Metro UK, Shine Tamayo and her partner John Chen were already embarrassed when they came to their after-wedding reception to find out that the caterers had not supplied any food. To combat this, they ordered noodles from across the street and served them in trays.

But their wedding woes did not end there. When they went to cut their much-awaited wedding cake, they sliced a knife through it, only to find that it was made of polystyrene foam, more commonly known as thermocol.

Yep. Thermocol. The same stuff you use to store glass or delicate items, and use as stuffing for packaging.

Following this, the bride broke down crying and decided to go to the police right then, with the wedding planner in tow.

The wedding planner has been charged with fraud and is awaiting trial.

And while this may not be the usual scenario, this rare occasion of horrible things has made the bride describe this as ‘one of the worst days of her life.’ Ouch.
