Hyderabad: An eight-year-old boy, Madipalli Roop Aurouna, who is suffering from Thalassemia and requires blood transfusion after every 20-25days, on Tuesday got the charge of the Hyderabad Police Commissioner for a day.

After getting the charge, Roop, a Class 2 student , who requires blood transfusion after every 20-25days, signed leave letters of officials of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate at Basheerbagh.

The child, son of Ranjitha and Vikram, who is a school teacher, has expressed his wish to become the Hyderabad Police Commissioner for a day.

Roop’s wish was fulfilled by Make-A-Wish Foundation – an organisation that grants wishes of children with life threatening medical conditions to enrich their human experience with hope, strength and joy – coordinator Dr. Pushpa Devi Jain.

Roop said he wants to control law and order to check crimes like chain snatching.

The child needs to take proper medicines, diet and go for regular checkups to see that his blood iron level doesn’t go high as it may affect his other vital organs.
