Yadgir: Following a raid on vehicles, particularly autorickshaws, officials of Labour, Revenue, Police and Transport departments on Thursday rescued 43 child labourers, who were allegedly being taken to work in fields near Wadagera Cross on the outskirts of Yadgir city.
The children belonging to Warkanalli, Belagera, Mylapur base, and Hattikuni villages in Yadgir taluk and were going for work in cotton fields it has been reported.
All those rescued were aged below 14 and were handed over to their parents after receiving written undertakings, he said.
Transport Department imposed a fine of Rs. 20,000 on vehicle owners for carrying excess passengers.
