Shahapur: A baby girl was found dead in a well at Budihal village of Shahapur taluk in Yadgir on Tuesday, October 4.
Police sources informed that the parents of the girl were sleeping in their house on Monday night when the incident took place. It is suspected that Amrita, the 18-month-old girl was kidnapped and sacrificed by some unknown. The miscreants must have performed black magic and then thrown the baby into the well, said police sources.
It is said that when Amrita’s parents woke up on Tuesday morning, they found themselves locked up at their home. Their neighbours helped them when the shouted for help. When family members and the neighbours started looking for the girl, they found the body in a nearby well. There were indications of black magic having been performed in front of Basayya Swamy’s house such as lemon dipped in kumkum and other items.
Yadgir SP Vinayak Patil who visited the spot informed that a team led by the Yadgir DSP was formed to investigate the incident.
