Ajjibettu govt school empowers students with free computer education
Students at the government primary school in Ajjibettu, BC Road, are benefiting from free computer education, equipping them with essential technological skills. This initiative, launched two years ago with donor support, continues to thrive with hands-on training and digital learning resources.
Computers were donated to the school, and a parent volunteered to train students, enhancing the program’s effectiveness. Last year, all students underwent computer training and even had exams on the subject. With projectors, a smart TV, and a screen, digital learning has become an integral part of their education.
The school has four government teachers and four guest teachers, including a dedicated computer instructor. Currently, 122 students, from LKG to grade 7, are enrolled. SDMC president Harish Mambadi credits the initiative’s success to donors, alumni, and organizations like Rotary Club Bantwal, District Surveyors Association, Save Life Charitable Trust, and Bank of Baroda. Their contributions cover teacher salaries, infrastructure, and additional learning activities.
Under Alumni Association president Ganesh Kamaje’s leadership, a team is actively working toward school development. The school offers spoken English training, Scouts and Guides programs, and extracurricular activities with expert guidance. Donor support also covers LKG and honorary teachers’ salaries.
“Our aim is to provide maximum academic exposure and shape responsible citizens,” said Mambadi. The Alumni Association remains committed to enhancing educational facilities, ensuring students receive quality learning experiences.
