New Delhi: Aprilia India has launched the new Tuono 457 Special Edition in the country at an ex-showroom price of Rs 3.99 lakh, introducing a range of comfort-oriented and ergonomic upgrades over the standard model. The Special Edition is priced just Rs 2,000 higher than the standard Tuono 457, making it an attractive proposition for buyers seeking improved everyday usability.
The motorcycle retains the same mechanical package as the standard model but receives several enhancements aimed at improving ride comfort and long-distance touring capability.
Focus on comfort and practicality
The Tuono 457 Special Edition comes equipped with a taller handlebar, which offers a more upright and relaxed riding position compared to the standard version.
Aprilia has also recalibrated the suspension setup, featuring a softer initial stroke and revised compression damping to improve ride quality on uneven roads.
Another notable update is the use of high-resilience foam in the seat, which the company claims offers better absorption of road shocks and engine vibrations, thereby enhancing rider comfort during extended journeys.
The motorcycle also gets an adjustable front brake lever and a smoked flyscreen, adding both practicality and a sportier appearance.
Engine and features remain unchanged
Mechanically, the Tuono 457 Special Edition remains identical to the standard motorcycle.
It continues to be powered by the 457cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 47.6 hp at 9,400 rpm and 43.5 Nm of peak torque at 6,700 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The bike also retains its electronic features, including traction control and a five-inch TFT instrument display.
The bidirectional quickshifter, however, continues to be offered as an optional accessory rather than standard equipment.
Inspired by the Tuono 1000R
The Special Edition will be offered in two new colour schemes – Mamba Black and Puma Grey.
Both liveries draw inspiration from the iconic 2006 Aprilia Tuono 1000R, giving the motorcycle a distinctive appearance that pays homage to one of the brand’s celebrated models.
The design updates, combined with the ergonomic improvements, are intended to broaden the Tuono 457’s appeal among enthusiasts looking for a performance motorcycle that is also suitable for daily commuting and weekend touring.
Extended warranty and bookings open
Aprilia is offering the Tuono 457 Special Edition with an extended warranty package of four years or 48,000 kilometres.
Pre-bookings for the motorcycle have already commenced at select Aprilia dealerships across India.
With only a marginal increase in price over the standard model, the Tuono 457 Special Edition is expected to attract buyers seeking additional comfort features without compromising on performance.
The launch further strengthens Aprilia’s presence in India’s growing middleweight motorcycle segment, where competition has intensified with manufacturers introducing increasingly feature-rich offerings.
