Bajaj Auto has updated the Pulsar NS200 in India with a new 5-inch TFT instrument console, electronic throttle-by-wire technology and additional rider-assistance features. The updated motorcycle is priced at Rs 1,60,374 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and also gets a slight increase in power, upgraded front suspension and a radial rear tyre.
The latest update brings the performance-oriented motorcycle in line with other recently refreshed models in the Pulsar range. Along with a new digital interface, the NS200 gains ride modes, traction control and a bidirectional quickshifter, expanding its electronic equipment.
The motorcycle retains its familiar 199.5cc liquid-cooled engine and six-speed gearbox, while the additional features aim to improve rider control, connectivity and everyday usability.
New TFT display adds connected features
The updated Pulsar NS200 replaces its existing instrument cluster with a 5-inch colour TFT display. The new console supports Google Maps mirroring, allowing riders to view navigation information on the screen instead of relying entirely on a smartphone display.
The update also introduces revised switchgear to operate the new interface. The display forms part of a broader technology upgrade that brings the NS200 closer to other recently updated Pulsar models.
Additional features include a USB Type-C charging port for compatible devices and a hazard switch. The motorcycle also gets a Panic Brake Alert system, which activates the hazard lights during hard braking to warn vehicles approaching from behind.
These additions improve convenience for daily commuting and longer rides. However, the availability and operation of connected functions may depend on compatible devices and the relevant system setup.
Ride-by-wire technology enables riding modes
One of the major changes is the introduction of electronic throttle-by-wire technology, also referred to as an electronic throttle body (ETB) system.
Unlike a conventional mechanical throttle arrangement, the electronic system manages throttle input electronically. This enables the motorcycle to offer different riding modes and helps regulate engine response according to the selected setting.
The updated NS200 also gets traction control, which helps manage rear-wheel spin when grip is limited. The system can be useful on slippery surfaces, although riders must continue to adjust their speed and riding style to road conditions.
Another addition is the Sports Shifter, a bidirectional quickshifter that allows gear changes without operating the clutch for eligible upshifts and downshifts. The feature is intended to make gear changes quicker and more convenient, particularly during spirited riding.
The motorcycle also receives adjustable levers, allowing riders to modify lever positioning to suit their preferences.
199.5cc engine gets a power increase
The Pulsar NS200 continues to use a 199.5cc, single-cylinder, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine paired with a six-speed transmission.
With the update, the engine’s claimed maximum power has increased from 24.5 hp to 25.5 hp. The motorcycle retains its existing engine configuration, while the revised output provides a modest increase in performance.
The six-speed gearbox continues to support both city riding and highway use. The motorcycle’s perimeter frame has also been retained, preserving a key part of the NS200’s established chassis design.
The combination of the familiar engine and the new electronic systems is intended to broaden the motorcycle’s capabilities without changing its fundamental character.
Front suspension and rear tyre revised
Bajaj has also made hardware changes to the updated Pulsar NS200. The motorcycle now gets thicker 37mm upside-down front forks, replacing the earlier 33mm units.
The revised front suspension hardware is intended to improve the motorcycle’s overall handling characteristics and front-end feel. The actual riding experience will depend on road conditions, rider preferences and suspension setup.
At the rear, the motorcycle now uses a 130/70 R17 radial tyre. This replaces the previous rear tyre specification and forms part of the model’s mechanical update.
The perimeter frame remains unchanged, while the updated suspension and tyre are intended to complement the additional electronic rider aids.
Price and availability in India
The updated Bajaj Pulsar NS200 is priced at Rs 1,60,374, ex-showroom Delhi. According to Autocar India, this is approximately Rs 11,000 more than the earlier version equipped with upside-down front forks, which was priced at Rs 1.49 lakh.
The updated motorcycle is offered in three colour options: Ebony Black, Racing Red and Nardo Grey, with Pearl Metallic White also listed in reports covering the new model.
The price quoted is the ex-showroom Delhi price; on-road costs will vary depending on the city, registration charges, insurance and other applicable expenses. Buyers should confirm the final price and delivery timeline with an authorised Bajaj dealership.
The update arrives as Bajaj continues to refresh its Pulsar range with improved displays, connected technology and electronic rider aids. With a TFT console, ride-by-wire, traction control and a small power increase, the NS200 receives a broader equipment package while retaining its existing engine platform and perimeter frame.
