Honda signals stronger focus on India
According to Takashi Nakajima, India continues to remain among Honda’s top three priority markets globally.
He stated that the company plans to strengthen its position in the Indian automobile market through a series of strategic launches and an expanded premium portfolio during 2026.
The latest launches indicate Honda’s increasing emphasis on hybrid technology and premium mobility solutions amid changing consumer preferences in India.
2026 Honda City gets exterior changes
The latest City update marks the second major mid-cycle refresh for the fifth-generation sedan introduced in 2020.
Honda said the facelift aims to improve the sedan’s sporty appeal while preserving its established driving characteristics.
The updated sedan now measures 4,594 mm in length, making it 11 mm longer than its predecessor.
Exterior modifications include redesigned Bi-LED projector headlamps, a connected LED light bar integrated into the grille, split LED daytime running lamps and a new matrix-mesh grille design.
The front bumper has also been revised with larger air intakes and aerodynamic styling elements.

The 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 121 bhp and 145 Nm of torque and is available with either a six-speed manual transmission or a seven-step CVT automatic gearbox.
Honda claims fuel efficiency figures of 17.77 kmpl for the manual version and 17.97 kmpl for the CVT variant.

The hybrid setup develops 126 bhp and 253 Nm of torque while offering a claimed fuel efficiency of 27.26 kmpl.
Honda is also providing an eight-year or 1.6 lakh km warranty on the lithium-ion battery pack and a five-year or 1 lakh km warranty on hybrid system components.
Customer deliveries for the updated City have already commenced across dealerships in India.
Honda showcases new ZR-V hybrid SUV
Alongside the City facelift launch, Honda also unveiled the ZR-V e:HEV for the Indian market.
