New Delhi: Hyundai Motor India has achieved a significant milestone with the Venue compact SUV crossing 8 lakh cumulative domestic sales since its launch in 2019. The company announced that total sales of the Venue reached 8,02,221 units in India by the end of May 2026, making it one of the country’s most successful compact SUVs.

The achievement places the Venue among an elite group of vehicles in the segment, becoming Hyundai’s second model after the Creta to surpass the 8 lakh sales mark in the domestic market.

Venue joins exclusive compact SUV club

With this milestone, the Hyundai Venue has become only the third compact SUV in India to cross 8 lakh cumulative sales, following the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon.

The model has played a crucial role in strengthening Hyundai’s position in the highly competitive compact SUV segment, which remains one of the fastest-growing categories in the Indian automotive market.

In addition to its domestic success, Hyundai has exported more than 55,000 units of the Venue from India, taking the SUV’s cumulative global sales beyond 8.5 lakh units.

Second-generation Venue boosts demand

The latest-generation Hyundai Venue has continued to attract strong customer interest following its introduction.

Built on Hyundai’s enhanced Global K1 platform, the second-generation Venue features a larger footprint, a 2,520 mm wheelbase and improved cabin space. The SUV is also notable for being the first Hyundai model produced at the company’s new manufacturing facility in Pune.

The updated model has contributed significantly to sustaining demand and expanding the vehicle’s customer base across urban and semi-urban markets.

Modern design and premium features

The new Venue adopts Hyundai’s latest design language, featuring quad-beam LED headlamps, twin-horn LED daytime running lights, horizon-style LED tail lamps and a dark chrome front grille.

Its wider stance, bridge-type roof rails and redesigned profile give the SUV a more premium and contemporary appearance.

Inside, the Venue offers a completely redesigned cabin with dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays integrating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Other premium features include leatherette upholstery, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, ambient lighting, reclining rear seats, rear sunshades and a Bose eight-speaker sound system.

The SUV is also available in multiple colour options, including new shades such as Hazel Blue, Mystic Sapphire and Dragon Red, along with dual-tone roof combinations.

Multiple engine options on offer

Hyundai continues to offer the Venue with three powertrain choices catering to different customer preferences.

The entry-level 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine produces 83 bhp and 114.7 Nm of torque and is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine develops 120 bhp and 172 Nm of torque and is available with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

For diesel buyers, Hyundai offers a 1.5-litre CRDi engine producing 116 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Venue N Line targets enthusiasts

The sportier Venue N Line remains part of the lineup and is powered by the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine.

It features additional performance-oriented elements such as paddle shifters, multiple drive modes and traction control modes designed to deliver a more engaging driving experience.

The N Line variant has helped Hyundai appeal to younger buyers seeking a sportier compact SUV without compromising on practicality.

Conclusion

The Hyundai Venue’s achievement of crossing 8 lakh domestic sales underscores its popularity among Indian consumers and its importance within Hyundai’s product portfolio. With strong sales, modern features and multiple powertrain options, the Venue continues to be a key player in India’s highly competitive compact SUV segment.
