New Delhi: Jeep India has launched the Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition in the country to celebrate 85 years of the Jeep brand. Based on the premium Overland variant, the limited-edition SUV is restricted to just 85 units in India and is priced from Rs 36.05 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open through authorised Jeep dealerships and the company’s official website.
The special edition receives exclusive cosmetic updates, premium interior enhancements and the debut of CARA AI, Stellantis’ voice-enabled in-car assistant. While the SUV gets several visual and technology upgrades, its mechanical package remains unchanged from the standard Meridian Overland.
Only 85 units for India
The Meridian 85th Anniversary Edition has been introduced as a collector’s model to commemorate Jeep’s 85-year global legacy. Production has been capped at just 85 units, making it one of the brand’s most exclusive offerings in the Indian market.
Jeep has retained the pricing of the Overland trim despite adding several exclusive features. The 4×2 automatic variant is priced at Rs 36.05 lakh, while the 4×4 automatic version costs Rs 37.92 lakh (both ex-showroom).
Exterior gets exclusive anniversary touches
The anniversary edition features several styling updates to distinguish it from the standard Meridian.
These include 85th Anniversary decals on the front doors and tailgate, unique anniversary logos on the wheel centre caps and gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels. Buyers can choose from five exterior colours: Pearl White, Techno Metallic Green, Velvet Red, Grigio Magnesio and Brilliant Black.
Premium cabin with new features
Inside, Jeep has added Mayan Gold accents across the dashboard along with a new ambient lighting package to give the cabin a more premium appearance.
Customers can also opt for specially curated 85th Anniversary AXS packages, which include accessories such as carpet floor mats, anniversary decals, ambient lighting and illuminated panoramic sunroof lighting, branded as the Sky Lounge package.
A key addition is CARA AI, Stellantis’ new intelligent voice assistant. Supporting 52 languages, including several Indian languages, the system enables voice-controlled navigation, weather updates, music playback, phone calls and selected vehicle functions.
Engine remains unchanged
Mechanically, the special edition remains identical to the standard Meridian Overland.
Power comes from the familiar 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel engine, producing 170 hp and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission, while buyers can choose between front-wheel drive and an optional four-wheel-drive configuration.
Broader Meridian range updated
Alongside the anniversary edition, Jeep has also updated the regular Meridian range by introducing CARA AI across more variants.
Prices for the updated Meridian line-up now start at Rs 30.45 lakh (ex-showroom). The company believes the AI-powered assistant and enhanced connectivity features will improve the ownership experience while keeping the SUV competitive in the premium three-row SUV segment.
