NEW DELHI: Maruti Suzuki India Limited has introduced the Victoris Aurum Edition to mark the first anniversary of its mid-size SUV, the Victoris. The special edition is based on the Strong Hybrid variant and is available as an accessory kit priced at Rs 22,990. It brings cosmetic enhancements and additional interior accessories while retaining the SUV’s existing hybrid powertrain.

The launch comes after the Victoris recorded 1,47,602 units in sales during its first year in the Indian market, according to the company’s figures. Maruti Suzuki said the SUV achieved the highest first-year sales for a new model in India’s passenger vehicle category. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been named the face of the Aurum Edition campaign.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris Aurum Edition: What is new?

The Aurum Edition focuses primarily on exterior styling changes rather than mechanical upgrades. It receives copper-coloured inserts on the front, side and rear skid plates, along with matching elements around the wheel arches.

Chrome accessories have also been added to several exterior areas, including the front grille, fenders, bumpers, body-side mouldings and door visors. These additions give the SUV a distinct appearance compared with the standard Victoris.

The special edition also receives practical accessories for the cabin and luggage area. The kit includes all-weather 3D cabin mats, a 3D boot mat and a rear trunk sill guard.

The name ‘Aurum’ comes from the Latin word for gold, reflecting the model’s first-year milestone. However, the edition’s main changes are visual and accessory-based, rather than a new engine or a major feature revision.

Price and availability

Maruti Suzuki has priced the Victoris Aurum Edition accessory kit at Rs 22,990. It is based on the Strong Hybrid version of the SUV, while the standard Victoris range is priced between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 19.99 lakh, ex-showroom.

The Rs 22,990 amount refers to the special accessory kit and should not be mistaken for the price of the complete vehicle. Buyers considering the edition should confirm the applicable variant, installation charges and availability with an authorised Maruti Suzuki dealership.

The company has not announced a separate mechanical variant for the Aurum Edition in the report. Its positioning is centred on offering buyers additional styling elements and accessories to mark the SUV’s first anniversary.

Hybrid powertrain remains unchanged

The Victoris Aurum Edition uses the SUV’s existing 1.5-litre petrol-based Strong Hybrid system, which combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and a lithium-ion battery. The system supports an EV mode and is paired with an e-CVT transmission.

The combined output is around 116 hp and 122 Nm of peak torque, according to NDTV’s report. The Victoris range is also offered with petrol and CNG powertrain options, although the Aurum Edition described in the launch report is based on the Strong Hybrid variant.

Since the Aurum package concentrates on cosmetic additions, buyers should not expect a performance increase or a change in the underlying hybrid system as part of this edition.

Victoris records 1.47 lakh sales in its first year

The Aurum Edition arrives as Maruti Suzuki marks the Victoris’ first year on sale. The SUV recorded 1,47,602 units in total sales during its first year, according to figures reported by NDTV.

The model reached a monthly sales peak of 15,240 units in January 2026, while monthly volumes generally remained between 10,000 and 13,000 units during much of its first year.

Maruti Suzuki has also highlighted the Victoris’ progress in reaching key sales milestones. The company said it crossed both the one-lakh and 1.5-lakh sales marks faster than any other passenger vehicle in India, with the milestones supported by certifications from JATO Dynamics.

The SUV is positioned in India’s competitive mid-size SUV segment and is sold through Maruti Suzuki’s Arena dealership network. It shares its platform and engine options with the Grand Vitara but has its own exterior styling and equipment package.

Shahid Kapoor fronts the Aurum Edition campaign

Maruti Suzuki has appointed actor Shahid Kapoor as the face of the Victoris Aurum Edition campaign. The company said the association reflects the SUV’s appeal to young, technology-oriented buyers looking for a contemporary vehicle.

The anniversary edition adds a styling-focused option for customers interested in personalising the hybrid SUV. Its copper accents, chrome elements and all-weather mats distinguish it from the standard model, while the existing powertrain and core vehicle package remain unchanged.

For prospective buyers, the key consideration is whether the additional accessories justify the kit price. The Aurum Edition does not represent a new engine or a major technical update; instead, it celebrates the Victoris’ first year with cosmetic upgrades and a dedicated campaign.
