New Delhi: Nissan Motor India recorded a 50% year-on-year increase in domestic wholesale sales in October 2026, dispatching 3,600 vehicles to dealerships compared with 2,402 units in the corresponding month last year.

The growth marks the company’s eighth consecutive month of year-on-year improvement in domestic wholesales. The performance comes amid Nissan’s efforts to strengthen its presence in India through an expanded SUV portfolio, including the Magnite, Gravite and the all-new Tekton.

Tekton, Magnite and Gravite support growth

Nissan attributed its improved domestic performance to customer response to its expanding product range.

The Magnite has been an important model for the company in India’s compact SUV segment, while the Gravite has added to its presence in the multi-purpose vehicle category. The all-new Tekton is also expected to contribute to the company’s growth strategy as Nissan expands its SUV offerings.

The Tekton is a key part of Nissan’s renewed product strategy in India. The company is looking to strengthen its position across multiple vehicle segments by introducing new products and improving its reach among customers.

Exports decline despite domestic sales increase

While domestic wholesales registered strong growth, Nissan’s export performance presented a different picture.

The company exported 4,710 vehicles in October 2026, compared with 7,272 units in October 2025, marking a decline of approximately 35%.

As a result, Nissan’s combined domestic and export wholesales stood at 8,310 units during October, down around 14% from 9,674 units in the same month last year.

The figures indicate that the increase in domestic demand was not sufficient to offset the fall in overseas shipments during the month.

January-October wholesales cross 85,000 units

Between January and October 2026, Nissan Motor India recorded cumulative wholesales of 85,124 vehicles across domestic and export markets.

India continues to serve as an important manufacturing and export base for the Japanese automaker. Through its ‘One Car, One World’ strategy, Nissan aims to manufacture vehicles in India for both domestic customers and international markets.

The company has also been expanding exports of the Tekton, with shipments to markets including South Africa, Bhutan and Nepal announced earlier this year.

Nissan focuses on dealership expansion and customer experience

Commenting on the October performance, Nissan Motor India Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the 50% growth in domestic wholesales reflected continued customer confidence in the brand and the progress being made in the Indian market.

He added that the company remained focused on serving customers through its products and improved ownership experiences during the festive season.

Nissan is also working to expand its dealership network and strengthen customer support as it seeks to improve its reach across the country.

The October figures highlight the contrasting performance of Nissan’s domestic and export businesses. While the company recorded its eighth consecutive month of domestic growth, the decline in exports affected its overall wholesale numbers.
