Mumbai: Porsche has officially opened order books in India for the updated 911 GT3, bringing the latest 992.2-generation version of its track-focused sports car to the country. Priced at ₹3.33 crore (ex-showroom), the new model arrives around 18 months after its global debut and continues to represent the most performance-oriented road-going version of the iconic 911 lineup available to enthusiasts.
The latest 911 GT3 combines motorsport-inspired engineering with everyday usability, offering a naturally aspirated high-revving engine, advanced aerodynamics and cutting-edge chassis technology designed to deliver an engaging driving experience both on the road and the race track.
Naturally aspirated engine remains the highlight
At the heart of the new 911 GT3 is Porsche’s renowned 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six petrol engine.
The powerplant produces 510 hp and 450 Nm of torque while revving up to an impressive 9,000 rpm. Unlike many modern high-performance sports cars that rely on turbocharging, Porsche has retained the naturally aspirated setup, making the GT3 one of the few remaining high-revving performance cars available globally.
For the Indian market, the engine is paired exclusively with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
The combination enables the sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.4 seconds, while the top speed is rated at 311 kmph.
Advanced chassis and performance technologies
Porsche has equipped the new GT3 with a range of advanced performance technologies aimed at enhancing handling precision and driver involvement.
The sports car comes standard with rear-wheel steering, Porsche Torque Vectoring, active sport suspension and a lightweight stainless-steel sports exhaust system.
These systems work together to improve cornering stability, agility and responsiveness, ensuring the GT3 remains one of the most capable track-focused sports cars in its segment.
Engineers have also fine-tuned the chassis to deliver greater confidence at high speeds while maintaining everyday drivability.
Revised design improves aerodynamics
The updated GT3 receives several visual and aerodynamic enhancements over its predecessor.
At the front, the car features a redesigned bonnet with integrated air ducts, larger cooling intakes and a more aggressive front splitter designed to optimise airflow.
The vehicle rides on staggered alloy wheels measuring 20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear, fitted with high-performance tyres.
The rear section retains the unmistakable GT3 identity with its prominent fixed rear wing, integrated ducktail spoiler and centrally mounted dual exhaust outlets.
Porsche has also revised the rear diffuser and aerodynamic elements to increase downforce and improve stability during high-speed driving.
Weissach package offers additional weight savings
Customers looking for an even more focused driving experience can opt for the Weissach package, priced at ₹43.9 lakh.
The package introduces extensive use of carbon fibre across various components, including the bonnet, roof and exterior trim. Additional lightweight elements such as special doors, a carbon-fibre roll cage and six-point racing harnesses further reduce weight and enhance track performance.
Porsche is also offering a version of the Weissach package without the roll cage for customers seeking greater practicality.
Manthey kit enhances track capability
For enthusiasts who frequently drive on racing circuits, Porsche has introduced the optional Manthey performance kit at an additional cost of ₹1 crore.
Developed specifically to maximise lap-time performance, the package includes a larger rear wing, rear-wheel aerodiscs, front canards and a heavily revised rear diffuser.
The kit also features upgrades to the suspension system, braking components and chassis settings, resulting in sharper handling and improved track performance.
The Manthey package is expected to appeal primarily to serious driving enthusiasts and track-day participants.
Premium cabin with modern technology
Inside, the new GT3 largely follows the familiar layout of the standard 911 while incorporating several model-specific elements.
These include a traditional gear selector, unique trim finishes and an analogue stopwatch mounted on the dashboard as part of Porsche’s Sport Chrono package.
Unlike the standard Carrera models, the GT3 does not offer rear seats, reflecting its focus on performance and weight reduction.
The equipment list includes a 10.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone charging, dual-zone climate control, ambient lighting, an eight-speaker audio system and electrically adjustable sports seats.
A rare offering in today’s sports car market
With the arrival of the updated 992.2-generation GT3, Porsche continues to cater to enthusiasts seeking a pure driving experience.
At a time when turbocharging and electrification dominate the performance car market, the 911 GT3 stands out as one of the few naturally aspirated, high-revving sports cars still available.
The launch further strengthens Porsche’s presence in India’s luxury performance vehicle segment and offers buyers access to one of the most celebrated sports cars in automotive history.
