New Delhi: Renault India has introduced the updated 2026 version of its popular MPV, the Renault Triber, bringing a host of new comfort and practicality features across variants along with a price increase.

The revised Triber range now starts at Rs. 5.81 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Authentic petrol manual variant, while the top-end Emotion AMT is priced at Rs. 8.48 lakh (ex-showroom). The price hike across variants ranges between Rs. 4,575 and Rs. 9,150.

Price revision across variants

The updated pricing reflects incremental hikes across the lineup. The base Authentic petrol manual sees the lowest increase of Rs. 4,575, while higher trims such as the Emotion petrol manual and AMT variants witness increases of up to Rs. 9,150.

Despite the upward revision, the Triber continues to position itself as one of the most affordable seven-seater options in the Indian market.

Feature upgrades focus on comfort

A key highlight of the 2026 update is the introduction of a segment-first automatic climate control system, now available in the top-spec Emotion variant. This addition is expected to enhance cabin comfort, especially in India’s diverse climatic conditions.

Renault has also improved practicality by introducing one-touch fold and tumble functionality for the second-row seats, making access to the third row easier. Additionally, the second-row seats can now be fully folded, expanding the boot capacity to 1,065 litres—an important upgrade for families and long-distance travel.

Enhancements across variants

The updates are not limited to the top trim. The mid-level Evolution variant now gets steering-mounted controls for audio and phone functions, a day-night adjustable inside rear-view mirror, and a rear cabin lamp.

The Techno variant sees a more comprehensive upgrade package, including a driver seat armrest, height-adjustable driver seat, rear defogger, electrically folding ORVMs, dual front tweeters, and a 12-volt charging socket for third-row passengers.

These additions aim to improve both driver convenience and passenger comfort across the vehicle.

Unchanged powertrain

Mechanically, the Triber remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 1.0-litre petrol engine producing 71 bhp and 96 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a five-speed manual gearbox as standard, while an automated manual transmission (AMT) option is available exclusively on the top-end variant.

Safety features retained

Renault has retained its comprehensive safety package in the 2026 Triber. Standard safety features include six airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), electronic stability control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

These features ensure that the vehicle meets evolving safety expectations in the segment.

Market positioning and outlook

With the latest update, Renault aims to strengthen the Triber’s appeal in the competitive compact MPV segment by offering enhanced comfort, improved usability and modern features at a relatively accessible price point.

The addition of features such as automatic climate control and improved seating flexibility reflects a growing focus on customer convenience and versatility.

Conclusion

The 2026 Renault Triber update brings meaningful feature enhancements without altering its core mechanical setup. While prices have increased slightly, the added comfort and practicality features are likely to help the model maintain its strong position in the budget MPV segment.
