Bengaluru: Royal Enfield has officially commenced deliveries of its first electric motorcycle, the Flying Flea C6, in Bengaluru, marking a major milestone in the company’s entry into the electric mobility segment.
The launch signals the beginning of Royal Enfield’s broader electric vehicle strategy through its Flying Flea sub-brand and represents the company’s first all-electric offering aimed at urban riders.
The Chennai-based motorcycle manufacturer has adopted a phased city-by-city rollout strategy, with Bengaluru becoming the first market to receive customer deliveries.
Dedicated ownership and service network
As part of the rollout, Flying Flea has established a dedicated ownership and service ecosystem across Bengaluru.
The company has introduced a hub-and-spoke service model, with a central service facility located in BTM Layout handling specialised support and repairs. Multiple spoke centres spread across the city will cater to routine servicing and maintenance requirements.
Leveraging Royal Enfield’s extensive retail network, Flying Flea will also operate through a shop-in-shop format within existing dealerships and service centres.
To further enhance the ownership experience, every Flying Flea C6 comes with round-the-clock roadside assistance, ensuring support for riders whenever required.
Heritage-inspired design meets modern technology
The Flying Flea C6 draws inspiration from the iconic Flying Flea motorcycles used by military forces during the 1940s.
Royal Enfield describes the motorcycle as a “city+” electric bike, combining retro-inspired styling with modern technology and premium connectivity features.
The motorcycle is offered in two colour options – Storm Black and Flea Green.
The Flying Flea C6 is priced at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Customers can also opt for a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, reducing the upfront purchase price to ₹1.99 lakh.
Performance and charging capabilities
Powering the electric motorcycle is a 3.91kWh lithium-ion battery pack paired with an electric motor producing 15.4kW (21bhp) and 60Nm of torque.
The company claims that the powertrain delivers more than 400Nm of wheel torque, enabling brisk acceleration despite the motorcycle’s lightweight construction of 124kg.
The Flying Flea C6 has a claimed top speed of 115kmph.
Charging options include Rapid, Standard and Trickle modes using a conventional 16A socket. According to the company, the battery can be charged from 20 per cent to 80 per cent in slightly over an hour, making it practical for daily commuting requirements.
Packed with connected features
The electric motorcycle comes equipped with an extensive suite of connected technologies.
Features include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 4G connectivity, remote vehicle monitoring and over-the-air software updates.
The motorcycle also gets several rider aids, including lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, cruise control, voice assistance, live location sharing and tip-over alerts.
A joystick-controlled round TFT touchscreen serves as the central display unit, while a rotary selector enables riders to switch seamlessly between different riding modes.
Unique engineering highlights
One of the standout features of the Flying Flea C6 is its forged aluminium Girder fork suspension, a modern interpretation of a classic design that is rarely seen on contemporary motorcycles.
The motorcycle also features an articulating front mudguard, adjustable footpegs and a removable pillion seat, combining practicality with distinctive styling.
Royal Enfield said the motorcycle was developed entirely in-house at its dedicated technology centre by a team of more than 200 engineers across India and the United Kingdom.
The project has already generated more than 45 patent applications and has received international recognition, including the prestigious Red Dot Award 2025 in the Design Concept category.
Beginning of Royal Enfield’s electric journey
With deliveries now underway in Bengaluru, the Flying Flea C6 marks the beginning of Royal Enfield’s electric future and its attempt to blend the brand’s heritage with modern, sustainable mobility solutions.
As competition in India’s premium electric two-wheeler segment intensifies, the Flying Flea C6 is expected to play a key role in shaping Royal Enfield’s position in the country’s rapidly evolving EV market.
