Mumbai: Tata Motors has introduced a new Pure+ PS variant of the Tata Nexon, making it the first car in India priced below Rs 10 lakh to offer a panoramic sunroof.
The new Nexon Pure+ PS variant has been launched at an introductory ex-showroom price starting from Rs 9.59 lakh.
With the latest update, Tata Motors aims to bring premium features, typically available only in higher-end variants, to a wider range of customers in the compact SUV segment.
Panoramic sunroof introduced in affordable segment
The major highlight of the new variant is the addition of a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a feature increasingly popular among Indian car buyers.
Industry analysts note that panoramic sunroofs have become one of the most sought-after premium features in the Indian passenger vehicle market in recent years.
By introducing the feature below the Rs 10 lakh price point, Tata Motors has attempted to strengthen the Nexon’s appeal in the highly competitive compact SUV category.
The company said the launch further enhances the Nexon’s value proposition while expanding feature accessibility for customers.
Multiple powertrain options continue
The Nexon Pure+ PS will continue Tata Motors’ multi-powertrain strategy and will be offered in petrol, diesel and Twin Cylinder iCNG variants.
The petrol and iCNG models are powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 120 bhp at 5,500 rpm.
The diesel variant remains one of the more fuel-efficient offerings in the compact SUV segment.
Tata Motors continues to position the Nexon as one of the few vehicles in India offering petrol, diesel, CNG and electric powertrain options under a single model lineup.
Feature list expanded
Apart from the panoramic sunroof, the Nexon Pure+ PS comes equipped with several premium features.
The SUV includes a 10.25-inch Harman infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Other features include a six-speaker sound system, cruise control, auto LED headlamps, rain-sensing front and rear wipers, HD rear-view camera with guidelines, parking sensors, LED tail lamps and electrically adjustable outside rear-view mirrors with auto-fold function.
The company said the new variant has been designed to provide an enhanced comfort and convenience package for customers.
Variant-wise pricing
The ex-showroom pricing for the new Nexon Pure+ PS variants is as follows:
- Petrol MT – Rs 9.59 lakh
- Petrol AMT – Rs 10.14 lakh
- Twin Cylinder iCNG MT – Rs 10.39 lakh
- Diesel MT – Rs 10.54 lakh
- Diesel AMT – Rs 11.19 lakh
Nexon remains key product for Tata Motors
Since its launch, the Tata Nexon has emerged as one of the strongest-selling compact SUVs in India.
The model gained prominence after becoming India’s first car to secure a five-star rating in Global NCAP crash safety tests.
It later also achieved a five-star safety rating under the Bharat NCAP programme.
Tata Motors stated that more than 10 lakh Nexon units are currently on Indian roads.
The company has continued to update the SUV regularly through feature additions and new variants in order to maintain its competitiveness in the segment.
The addition of the panoramic sunroof is expected to further strengthen the Nexon’s position among buyers seeking premium features at relatively affordable pricing.
