Hosur, Tamil Nadu: TVS Motor Company has crossed the milestone of selling more than 3 lakh electric scooters during the first seven months of 2026, reinforcing its position as India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer. The company retailed over 3.07 lakh electric scooters between January and July, already achieving nearly 97 per cent of its total electric two-wheeler sales recorded in 2025.
The strong performance places TVS on track to surpass its previous annual sales and potentially cross the 5 lakh-unit mark by the end of the year.
Record July sales boost momentum
TVS registered its highest-ever monthly electric scooter sales in July 2026, retailing 55,465 units. The company had earlier crossed the 50,000-unit milestone in March with sales of 51,632 units.
With an average monthly retail volume of nearly 43,900 units during the January-July period, TVS is well-positioned to maintain its growth momentum. Industry experts believe the upcoming festive season could further accelerate demand and help the company achieve record annual sales.
TVS widens lead over rivals
TVS continues to lead India’s electric two-wheeler market ahead of Bajaj Auto and Ather Energy. Bajaj retailed nearly 2.64 lakh electric two-wheelers during the first seven months of the year, trailing TVS by around 43,400 units.
Ather Energy retained the third position with more than 2 lakh units sold, while Hero MotoCorp’s Vida ranked fourth after selling nearly 1.29 lakh electric scooters. Ola Electric slipped to fifth place, retailing just over 80,000 units during the same period.
Festive season may drive stronger growth
With demand for electric mobility continuing to rise, TVS is expected to benefit from festive season purchases beginning in September. If the company maintains its current sales pace, industry estimates suggest it could finish 2026 with more than 5 lakh electric scooters sold.
The continued growth of TVS, Bajaj and Ather also highlights the increasing acceptance of electric two-wheelers among Indian consumers, supported by expanding charging infrastructure, improved product offerings and growing environmental awareness.
