BENGALURU: Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ultraviolette Automotive has launched the X-47 Venom electric motorcycle in India at an introductory price of Rs 2.65 lakh. The new model is the first motorcycle built on the company’s VX-100 100V architecture and offers a claimed Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) range of up to 343 km on a single charge.

The introductory price is applicable to the first 5,000 customers, while the regular starting price is Rs 3 lakh. Bookings opened on October 22, 2026, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in November.

The X-47 Venom features a revised battery system, improved cooling technology, a lighter construction and radar-based rider assistance features. The launch expands Ultraviolette’s electric motorcycle portfolio as the Bengaluru-based company continues to develop its technology and manufacturing operations.

New VX-100 platform reduces weight

The X-47 Venom is the first motorcycle to use Ultraviolette’s new VX-100 architecture, which brings changes to the battery, motor and motor control unit.

The motorcycle weighs 180 kg, making it up to 20 kg lighter than the previous generation, according to the company. Its new battery pack is claimed to be around 15% lighter, while offering improved energy density and thermal management.

The revised cooling arrangement is designed to improve heat dissipation during riding and charging. Ultraviolette says the changes are intended to improve efficiency and performance without significantly increasing the motorcycle’s overall weight.

The VX-100 platform is also expected to serve as the technological foundation for future products from the manufacturer.

Battery options and claimed performance

The Ultraviolette X-47 Venom will be available with 7 kWh and 11 kWh battery options. The larger SRB-11 battery pack offers 11 kWh of usable capacity and a claimed IDC range of 343 km. The company has not detailed the range of the entry-level 7 kWh version in the launch report.

The motorcycle is powered by an electric motor producing 30 kW, equivalent to approximately 40 bhp. Ultraviolette claims 550 Nm of torque at the wheel, acceleration from 0 to 60 kmph in 2.7 seconds and from 0 to 100 kmph in 5.9 seconds. Its claimed top speed is 155 kmph.

The motorcycle supports DC fast charging at up to 12 kW and also comes with a 1.6 kW onboard charger. Actual range will depend on factors such as riding style, speed, traffic, road conditions and temperature.

Radar-based safety and rider assistance

The X-47 Venom features Ultraviolette’s Hypersense rider-assistance system, which uses a 77 GHz rear radar with a claimed monitoring distance of up to 200 metres.

The system supports blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assistance, overtake alerts and rear-collision warnings. Hazard lights can activate when the system detects a potential threat approaching from behind.

The motorcycle also gets a seven-inch touchscreen instrument display running Interface X, cruise control, integrated front and rear dashcams, rear-camera-based parking assistance and Mappls navigation.

Connected features include software updates and VIOLETTE AI alerts for events such as movement, falls, towing and crashes. The motorcycle’s equipment package is intended to combine connected technology with additional awareness of su
