With the holiday season in full swing, the ancient cities of Vijayapura and Badami are witnessing a significant rise in school visits from across the state. The weekends have seen a sharp increase in the number of visitors to historic landmarks, with the Gol Gumbaz, a mausoleum from the 17th century, being one of the top attractions. The site, which houses the remains of Mohammad Adil Shah and his family members, has seen a fivefold increase in schoolchildren visiting, due to favorable temperatures and school holidays. Ibrahim Rauza, also known as the ‘Black Taj Mahal,’ is another popular spot.
