Bellary : In a notable enforcement action, police in Kudathini (Torangallu) successfully intercepted three vehicles involved in the illegal transportation of ration rice. The raid took place on Sunday near Nitya Nanda Swamy Math on Kampli Road, leading to the seizure of the illicit goods and the vehicles used in their transport.

Details of the Operation

The operation was triggered by specific intelligence reports indicating that ration rice was being unlawfully transported in one Ichar lorry and two Bolero vehicles. Acting on this information, officers from the Kudathini police station promptly proceeded to the designated location. The raid resulted in the confiscation of 173 bags of ration rice, valued at ₹2.35 lakh, along with the vehicles.

During the operation, the drivers responsible for the illegal transport of the ration rice fled the scene, abandoning their vehicles. These vehicles have since been impounded by the authorities.

Further Actions and Case Registration

Following the raid, a formal complaint was lodged by officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department of Kurugodu taluk, Bellary. As a result, a case has been registered at the Kudathini police station. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend those responsible for the illegal transport of ration rice.
