Bengaluru: Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa will assess the state’s flood condition on Saturday June 19. He is going to hold a video call with Deputy Commissioners from 20 districts across the state, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and others.
The video conference will begin at 12 p.m. Three coastal districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada, have been issued red alerts today, according to the IMD forecast. Organsised alerts have been issued for the districts of Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga.
Several places in the coastal districts, Malnad, and North Karnataka have reported landslides and flooding. However, no human casualties have been reported so far. The North Karnataka region’s major rivers including Krishna, Ghataprabha, Malaprabha, and Tungabhadra, have caused flooding in various districts.
The review meeting will be attended by Revenue Minister R Ashok, Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar, and others.
