Bengaluru: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru on Thursday issued a yellow alert for the coastal districts of Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts for July 1, 2, 4 and 5 and an orange alert for June 3.
The IMD has said that there is a trough in the east Arabian sea, along the Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala coasts, which will result in coastal districts in Karnataka to receive till July 5.
The three district will received heavy rainfall till July 3 and Uttara Kannada district will received heavy rainfall till July 5.
The IMD had issued a yellow alert till Monday in these three district.
The department has predicted thunderstorm as well as heavy rainfall for the next 24 hours over isolated places in coastal Karnataka.
