Belagavi: Mohammad Sadiq Gous Mohidin Miyobeg, a teacher at a government primary school in Chikkodi, has been arrested following allegations of misconduct with female students. The teacher has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.

The arrest followed a complaint by the parents of a student who reported the teacher’s conduct. The complaint led to Miyobeg’s arrest on charges outlined under the Pocso Act.

Superintendent of Police Dr. Bhimashankar Guled confirmed the arrest and stated that the complaint was filed on Friday night. The Chikkodi police are continuing their investigation into the matter.

Attempts to contact M A Mekanamaradi, the Deputy Director of Public Instruction for Chikkodi, for details on the administrative response were unsuccessful as his official phone was off.

This case underscores the importance of maintaining vigilance and safeguarding students within educational environments.
