Belagavi: The tragic case of an MBA graduate’s suicide at a PG in Nehru Nagar has taken a dramatic turn, with police arresting her boyfriend, Akash Chadachan.
Investigations revealed that Aishwarya, a Vijayapura native, had been in a relationship with Akash since college. However, Akash had become involved with another woman, leaving Aishwarya heartbroken. This emotional turmoil reportedly pushed her into depression, leading to her taking her own life on March 25 between 6:30 and 7:30 pm.
Aishwarya had moved to Belagavi for an internship while Akash was employed in a private firm there. Distressed over his new relationship, she sent a message to both Akash and his girlfriend before ending her life, blaming them for her tragic decision.
CCTV footage captured her final moments, showing her talking to a friend before heading to her room. Upon receiving her message, Akash rushed to the PG, forcibly entered her room, and took her phone—allegedly to erase evidence.
Police have taken Akash into custody and are also searching for the other woman involved. Further investigations, including a forensic analysis of Aishwarya’s call records, are underway. A case has been registered at the Belagavi APMC police station. The full circumstances behind her suicide will be confirmed as the inquiry progresses.
