Shared on X by user AlfinCodes, the post narrated the story of a young computer science graduate who moved to Bengaluru for his first software job. While friends and family back home believed he had achieved financial success early in life, the reality turned out to be very different.

High salary, but rising expenses

According to the post, the techie spends nearly ₹36,000 every month on rent for a small apartment close to his workplace. Food and groceries reportedly cost another ₹13,000 to ₹15,000 monthly.

Commuting expenses were also described as a major burden, with cab and auto-rickshaw rides costing between ₹6,000 and ₹8,000 due to Bengaluru’s heavy traffic congestion.

Lifestyle spending, including online food deliveries, coffee outings, and weekend activities, added another ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 to monthly expenses.

The post further highlighted hidden costs such as subscriptions, medical bills, unexpected expenses, and sending money back home to family.

Despite the high income, the software professional reportedly saves only ₹15,000 to ₹20,000 at the end of each month.
