Doddaballapur Police have arrested a man for allegedly killing a tea shop owner following a dispute over a ₹200 loan in Doddaballapur.

The deceased has been identified as Manjunath, a 40-year-old resident of Dyavasandra.

Argument over money turns violent

According to police, the incident occurred on May 12 when the accused, Muniyappa, allegedly visited Manjunath’s tea shop and asked him for money.

Police said Manjunath refused the request and instead asked Muniyappa to clear his pending dues. The conversation reportedly escalated into a heated argument.

During the altercation, Muniyappa allegedly assaulted Manjunath with a stick, causing severe injuries.

Victim dies during treatment

Manjunath was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to his injuries, officials said.

Following the incident, police arrested Muniyappa and registered a case under Section 103 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to murder.

Investigation continues

Police officials stated that further investigation is under way to determine the complete sequence of events surrounding the incident.
