The Bengaluru West City Corporation (BWCC) has announced the auction of 75 properties in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar zone after property owners failed to clear their pending tax dues amounting to ₹2.19 crore.
According to officials, the auction will take place on March 10 at 11 am at the office of the Joint Commissioner located at 18th Cross in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.
Auction over long-pending property tax dues
Authorities stated that the properties were identified after repeated attempts to recover pending property taxes from the owners proved unsuccessful.
Despite multiple notices issued by the corporation, the property owners reportedly failed to clear the dues. Following this, the civic body initiated legal procedures and served proclamation notices informing owners about the impending auction.
Officials said the move is aimed at recovering public revenue and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

Civic body intensifies recovery efforts
The BWCC has been taking stricter measures to recover outstanding property taxes across the city. Officials noted that similar auctions had already been conducted on February 17, February 21 and March 6 as part of the ongoing recovery drive.
Civic authorities emphasised that property tax forms a major source of revenue for urban development and essential civic services such as road maintenance, sanitation and public infrastructure.

The corporation has urged property owners to clear their dues promptly to avoid legal action and property seizure. Officials warned that strict enforcement measures, including auctions, would continue against defaulters.
The civic body also reiterated that property owners must comply with tax obligations to ensure the smooth functioning of urban governance and city development projects.
