Bengaluru: Ather Energy Ltd., one of India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturers, has announced the rollout of Infinite Cruise™ on its popular Ather 450X scooters, further strengthening its software-led approach to product evolution. The feature is being enabled through an over-the-air (OTA) update and will be available as a standard feature on select models.
Infinite Cruise™ is now available on the 450X range as well as the flagship Ather 450 Apex, marking a significant step in enhancing everyday riding comfort, particularly in Indian urban conditions. Riders receive an on-screen notification on the scooter dashboard once the update is ready, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly upgrade process.

Designed specifically for Indian riding conditions
Infinite Cruise™ was first introduced on the Ather Apex 450 in August 2025 during the Ather Community Day. Unlike conventional cruise control systems that are typically designed for steady highway speeds, Infinite Cruise™ has been developed keeping in mind the realities of Indian city riding.
In urban environments, scooters frequently operate at speeds below 30 kmph and must navigate dense traffic, uneven road surfaces, and frequent speed fluctuations. Infinite Cruise™ addresses these challenges by remaining persistently active even when the rider brakes or accelerates. Once enabled, the system intelligently adapts to rider inputs and recalibrates to the new speed without requiring repeated activation, making it especially useful in stop-and-go traffic.
This persistent functionality significantly reduces throttle intervention and helps lower rider fatigue during daily commutes, offering a more relaxed and controlled riding experience.

Wide operating range and advanced integrations
Infinite Cruise™ operates across a speed range of 10 kmph to 90 kmph, enabling cruising at city speeds that traditionally fall outside the scope of standard cruise control systems. The feature integrates several intelligent riding aids to ensure stability and safety across varied riding scenarios.
These include CityCruise, which adapts smoothly to changing speeds in traffic, and Hill Control, which maintains a steady pace on inclines and descents by compensating for load variations and using regenerative braking through Ather’s Magic Braking Algorithm. In addition, Crawl Control allows stable low-speed cruising on rough or uneven roads, supported by Multi-Mode Traction Control that improves grip on wet or slippery surfaces.
Together, these systems work in tandem to deliver a consistent and predictable riding experience, even in challenging urban conditions.
Backward compatibility for existing customers
As part of its ongoing commitment to improving ownership experiences, Ather Energy has also announced that Infinite Cruise™ will be rolled out to over 44,000 Ather 450X customers who purchased their scooters from January 1, 2025 onwards. This move underlines the company’s focus on backward compatibility and long-term product support.
According to the company, the ability to introduce Infinite Cruise™ on existing scooters is the result of forward-looking product planning and strategic hardware choices made during the development of the 2025 450 series. When paired with Multi-Mode Traction Control and Magic Twist™, Infinite Cruise™ aims to make city riding safer, more engaging, and less tiring for Ather owners.
Software-driven evolution of electric scooters
Ather Energy continues to position its scooters as evolving products, with software playing a central role in extending capabilities well beyond the initial purchase. Regular OTA updates allow riders to benefit from new features and performance enhancements without visiting a service centre, reinforcing the brand’s technology-first philosophy.
The Ather 450X is currently priced at ₹1,47,998 (ex-showroom) in Bengaluru, reflecting its positioning as a performance-oriented electric scooter with advanced connectivity and rider-assist features.
