Bengaluru: Shri Awanish Awasthi, Chief Advisor to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, visited Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled in Bengaluru, appreciating its impactful work in empowering persons with disabilities.
During his visit in April 2026, the retired IAS officer toured the facilities and interacted with the team, gaining first-hand insight into the organisation’s initiatives across education, livelihoods, arts, sports, and cultural development.

Recognising inclusive initiatives
Mr. Awasthi expressed admiration for the efforts led by Dr. Mahantesh G.K., Founder and Managing Trustee of Samarthanam Trust. He highlighted the organisation’s role in promoting inclusion, dignity, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities.

He described Samarthanam’s work as a “beacon of inclusion,” noting the positive transformation in the lives of beneficiaries through its diverse programmes.
A revisit after a decade
This visit marked Mr. Awasthi’s second interaction with the Trust, having previously attended the inauguration of Phase I of its Head Office in 2015.
Reflecting on the organisation’s journey, he appreciated its significant growth over the past decade, both in terms of reach and impact.
Expanding impact through multiple sectors
Samarthanam Trust has been actively working towards empowering individuals with disabilities through skill development, education, and community engagement. Its initiatives also extend to promoting participation in arts, sports, and cultural activities.
