Bengaluru: Former Minister and Congress MLA from Bellary Rural Constituency, B. Nagendra, along with Congress MLA Basanagowda Daddal from Raichur Rural Constituency, has been summoned by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to appear before their inquiry into the Karnataka Valmiki Development Corporation scam on Tuesday.

The SIT issued a notice directing both politicians to present themselves at the CID office on July 9 for questioning regarding their involvement in the illegal transfer of ₹94.97 crore from the corporation’s bank account. The case was registered at High Grounds police station.

The inquiry will be conducted under SIT Chief Manish Kharbikar’s leadership, who emphasized that both individuals will have statements recorded and questions asked during this process.

B. Nagendra resigned as Scheduled Caste Welfare Minister on June 6 following revelations about his alleged connection to the Valmiki Development Corporation scam. His close neighbor Nagaraj and relative Nageshwara Rao have been arrested by SIT in connection with money transfers related to this case.

The notice issued to Nagendra on July 5 was based on information revealed during interrogations involving Nagaraj and Nageshwara Rao. Additionally, Daddal received a similar notice regarding an allegation suggesting that money had been paid to one of his close associates, according to sources within SIT.
