Kempegowda International Airport is already known for the stunning nature-inspired design of its Terminal 2, but many travellers may not realise that the airport also houses a unique museum experience inside the terminal.
The museum has been created through a collaboration between Bengaluru airport and the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), offering passengers a cultural and artistic experience before boarding their flights.
Art and culture inside the airport
Located within T2, the museum features curated collections of South Asian art, interactive digital displays, film memorabilia, and heritage-inspired exhibits.
Travellers can explore artworks by renowned artists including Jamini Roy, Jangarh Singh Shyam, Jyoti Bhatt, and L. N. Tallur.
The experience also includes curated stories around Bollywood posters, vintage film stills, lobby cards, and interactive activities designed to engage visitors while they wait for flights.
Turning waiting time into a cultural experience
Airport officials say the initiative aims to transform travel waiting periods into meaningful cultural experiences at no additional cost to passengers.
The museum also includes a dedicated retail section where visitors can purchase MAP-inspired lifestyle products, souvenirs, gifts, and art collectibles.
Where travellers can find the museum
The MAP installations are available at two locations inside Terminal 2:
- Domestic Departures section opposite Carluccio’s Italian Coffee & Dining
- International Departures section near The Irish House
