A nine-year-old boy, injured in a tree fall on Nandidurga Road in Bengaluru last week, remains in the ICU with his health showing little improvement. The incident, which left the boy severely injured, has raised concerns over the lack of accountability, with his family alleging that officials from the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) have not visited the hospital or provided an explanation regarding the incident.
The boy was struck by a tree that collapsed due to strong winds and poor maintenance, leaving him with critical injuries. Despite the seriousness of the situation, the family claims that no BBMP representative has come forward to address the issue, adding to their distress. The BBMP’s responsibility for maintaining public safety, including the proper upkeep of trees, has been called into question after this incident.
The family is awaiting answers regarding the tree’s condition before the accident and the steps BBMP is taking to prevent such incidents in the future. Meanwhile, the boy’s condition remains critical, and his family continues to pray for his recovery.
