Toll charges on the Bengaluru–Chennai Expressway are set to roll out soon, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) finalizing the fare structure. Cars traveling one way between Hedigenabele near Hoskote and Sundarapalya near KGF will be charged up to ₹190. This 71-km Karnataka section has been informally in use for over seven months, and tolling will begin once digital systems and local coordination are fully operational.
According to The Times of India, the standard toll for a single trip from Hedigenabele to Sundarapalya will be ₹185, and ₹275 for a round trip. Heading the opposite direction, a one-way drive will cost ₹190. A monthly pass for 50 trips is priced at ₹6,105 for one direction and ₹6,260 for the reverse.
Rates vary depending on vehicle type. Light goods vehicles and minibuses will pay ₹295 for a single trip and ₹445 round trip toward Sundarapalya, and ₹305 and ₹455 respectively from the reverse. Heavy-duty vehicles like buses and trucks will be charged ₹620 one way from Hedigenabele and ₹930 round trip; from Sundarapalya, it’s ₹635 and ₹955.
Toll collection will be monitored through four plazas placed at Hedigenabele, Agrahara, Krishnarajapura, and Sundarapalya. The high-speed expressway, with limits up to 120 kmph, has seen unauthorized two-wheeler entries through broken fencing. In response, the NHAI has sought approval to deploy home guards at vulnerable entry points until the barriers are fully secured.
