A couple in Bengaluru’s Tunganagara area faced a brutal assault on Sunday night after asking a group of youth to stop drinking and partying near their residence. Shivagange Gowda (38) and his wife Jayalakshmi (35), living near Magadi Road, found the group drinking near their parked Toyota Innova around 7 PM. Concerned about the disturbance, Gowda asked them to leave. Though they initially agreed, the noise continued, prompting Gowda to confront them again around 9:30 PM.

The situation escalated violently as the youths, armed with daggers, bricks, and a cricket bat, attacked the couple. Jayalakshmi suffered minor injuries, while Gowda sustained severe wounds, including deep cuts to his hand, face, and shoulder, and required hospitalization.

Police Response and Community Concerns Byadarahalli police have arrested three suspects and are working to identify others involved. Gowda, frustrated with the lack of timely intervention, criticized the police for failing to monitor local disturbances. CCTV footage captured the incident, aiding in the investigation, and police have charged the suspects with attempted murder and unlawful assembly under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
