A 24-year-old software engineer from Bengaluru has amazed his peers and brought joy to his parents after securing a lucrative job at Uber, offering an annual salary of ₹60 lakh. Chitransh Anand, an alumnus of MNNIT Allahabad, previously spent two years at Oracle before seeking new career prospects.
“I often browsed discussion forums on Leetcode and Levels, where I discovered the Uber job listing and decided to apply,” Anand shared with Moneycontrol. He dedicated seven months to rigorous preparation, often sacrificing sleep to get ready for the interview process. “The interview had four rounds, two of which were quite challenging with questions that went beyond my preparation, but I managed to succeed.” Anand is set to join Uber next month.
Upon learning the news, his family was incredibly proud, especially his mother, who lives with him in Bengaluru. “She witnessed my late-night study sessions and was thrilled when I told her. They advised me to prioritize my health now,” he remarked.
Originally from Mughalsarai near Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, Anand moved to Bengaluru after accepting a ₹40 LPA position at Oracle in 2022.
Regarding work-life balance, Anand is optimistic. He noted that while Oracle required him to be in the office three days a week, Uber only requires two. “I don’t anticipate working excessive hours and am focused on maximizing this opportunity. I plan to invest in stocks and mutual funds instead of purchasing a car or house for now.”
