Bengaluru: Around 250 developers gathered at ARAKU Coffee in Bengaluru’s Indiranagar for an event that offered a glimpse into how artificial intelligence is changing the way software is built.
The gathering, called Cafe Cursor, brought together developers, founders and engineers experimenting with AI agents and using Cursor in their everyday workflows.
Bengaluru becomes hub for AI builders
The event was part of Cursor’s wider effort to build a developer community in India. The company says its Indian user base has tripled over the past year to more than 3 million developers, making India its third-largest market globally.
According to the company, Indian developers also generate more agent requests per developer than users in any other market.
The Bengaluru event reflected the city’s strong startup culture, with participants discussing workflows, products and ways AI agents could take over parts of software development.
Cursor expands its India presence
Cursor has announced an India-only Start plan priced at Rs 649 per month, responding to demand for local pricing and UPI payments.
The company is also preparing to establish its first physical office in India before the end of the year. It has already begun building a local team covering customer success, government affairs, technical support and go-to-market functions.
Its India roadshow has included Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
AI agents reshape software development
Developers at the event described using Cursor for everything from coding and workflow automation to building products with smaller teams.
Cursor’s agents can continue working while developers are away from their computers, with users able to launch and monitor tasks through its iOS application.
For founders, the growing availability of affordable AI development tools could reduce the time and money required to turn ideas into products.
The Bengaluru gathering showed that the city’s famous cafe culture is evolving once again — this time into a meeting ground for builders exploring a future where AI agents become part of the everyday workforce.
