Bengaluru, Sept 7: In a major anti-encroachment drive on Saturday, the Bengaluru district administration cleared 6.31 acres of government land valued at ₹11.14 crore, officially taking possession of the properties. The operation was led by Deputy Commissioner Jagadish G across multiple taluks.

Details of reclaimed land

According to an official press release, the cleared encroachments included Gomala (grazing land), lake land, and Gunduthopu (tree plantation land).

  • Bengaluru North taluk:
    • 4 acres of land worth ₹3.20 crore reclaimed in Gopalapura village, Dasanapur hobli.
    • Smaller parcels cleared in Kittaganahalli (10 guntas) and Bettahalli (8 guntas).
  • Bengaluru South taluk:
    • 17.08 guntas of lake land in Devaramachohalli (Survey No. 51) worth ₹0.90 lakh.
    • 20 guntas of land in Mailasandra (Survey No. 54) valued at ₹2 crore.
  • Anekal taluk:
    • 5 guntas of government land and 1 gunta of Gunduthopu land reclaimed in Halasahalli Tippasandra village.
  • Bengaluru East taluk:
    • 14 guntas of Gomala land in Hadosiddapur village valued at ₹1.50 crore.
    • 36 guntas of Gomala land in Yarappanahalli village worth ₹2 crore.

Officials present

The drive was carried out under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Jagadish K Nayak, assisted by taluk tahsildars and revenue staff.

Authorities said the reclaimed land will now be restored to its designated public use.
