Siva Narayanan, a Bengaluru-based entrepreneur, is working on a unique solution to address the city’s notorious pothole problem. He plans to develop an app that allows users to rate and review potholes, aiming to highlight road hazards and ensure timely repairs. Narayanan’s idea quickly garnered attention on X (formerly Twitter), with users humorously engaging with the concept. One user quipped that a three-star pothole might turn into a five-star hazard before repairs are initiated, while another dubbed a prominent pothole as the “Ejipura Stonehenge.”
The app concept has sparked interest, with suggestions to expand it nationally to improve road safety across India. However, the city’s potholes remain a serious issue. Despite a directive from Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar for BBMP to fix all potholes within 15 days, the problem persists across Bengaluru.
