Bengaluru City Police have imposed prohibitory orders around National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) re-examination centres ahead of the examination scheduled to be held on Sunday.

The restrictions have been introduced to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the examination and to prevent any activities that could disrupt the process.

Prohibitory orders issued under BNSS

City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh issued the order on Friday under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

According to the order, restrictions will remain in force within a 200-metre radius of all designated examination centres across Bengaluru during the conduct of the test.

Authorities stated that the measure is intended to maintain law and order and provide a disturbance-free environment for candidates appearing for the examination.

Xerox and cyber centres to remain closed

As part of the restrictions, xerox centres, cyber cafés and computer centres located within the prohibited zone have been directed to remain closed during the examination period.

Officials believe that regulating such establishments near examination venues will help prevent malpractice and ensure the integrity of the examination process.

The order is also aimed at reducing crowding and unauthorised activities around the centres.

Measures to ensure smooth conduct

Police personnel are expected to be deployed around examination venues to monitor compliance with the restrictions and assist in maintaining security arrangements.

Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with officials and avoid gathering near examination centres during the examination hours.

Students have been advised to reach their respective centres well in advance and carry all required documents to avoid last-minute inconvenience.

Focus on fair and secure examinations

Competitive examinations such as NEET attract thousands of candidates and require extensive security arrangements to ensure fairness and transparency.

Officials said the temporary restrictions are a precautionary measure and will remain in effect only for the duration necessary to facilitate the examination.
