In a quintessential Bengaluru moment, a local man found himself stuck in traffic for nearly two hours, and while waiting, decided to order a burger. To his surprise, the food was delivered in just 10 minutes, even as the traffic remained at a standstill. Photos of the incident, shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Arpit Arora, show the man’s car trapped in heavy traffic, while the Swiggy delivery person delivers the order. Arora was seen stepping out of his vehicle to retrieve the food amid the gridlock.
This amusing incident comes amid Bengaluru’s recognition as India’s most congested city. The latest Traffic Quality Index (TQI) ranked Bengaluru as having extreme congestion, surpassing other major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Bengaluru’s average travel time for 10 kilometers in 2023 was recorded at 28 minutes, and it remains the slowest city in India in terms of speed, with an average of just 18 km/h.
