A Bengaluru resident, Deven Mehta, has recounted a frightening encounter where a group of men assaulted his car on a busy street in the Kudlu area. His post, featuring videos and images of the incident, quickly went viral, amassing 42,000 views and numerous likes and shares on X (formerly Twitter).
In the footage, attackers can be seen shouting abuses and threatening Mehta and his passengers, which included a woman. They smashed the car windows, hurled stones, and intimidated the occupants while a nearby traffic police officer allegedly failed to intervene. After posting the videos, Mehta received a request from the Bengaluru police for more information but declined to provide his details due to safety concerns. He emphasized the need for increased public vigilance until law enforcement improves, stating, “I have shared it here so that more people remain vigilant and careful on the streets.”
Following his post, many users expressed their frustration with the police’s credibility and the rising lawlessness in the city. One commenter criticized the police for not feeling trustworthy, saying they seem more interested in collecting bribes than maintaining safety.
This incident follows another attack on a family in Kasavanahalli, where miscreants threw stones at a car, injuring a child. Victim Anoop shared a video of the attack on social media, revealing the increasing danger faced by motorists in Bengaluru.
