In a disturbing episode in Bengaluru, a man and his companion were reportedly attacked by a gang of unidentified individuals. The violent encounter is said to have taken place between 4:30 and 5:30 PM last Sunday within the jurisdiction of Sampigehalli police station.
The primary complainant, Zameer, who works as a vehicle mechanic, stated in his police report that he had parked his vehicle near AJBJ Grounds in Hegde Nagar to use the restroom. At that point, six unknown individuals allegedly confronted him. According to Zameer, the men questioned his reason for being in the area, hurled verbal abuse, and physically assaulted both him and his associate, Wasim.
Zameer recounted that he managed to flee the scene. However, the group allegedly attacked Wasim further, using a stick as a weapon. Zameer added that while writhing in pain, Wasim cried out “Allah,” at which point the attackers attempted to coerce him into saying “Jai Shri Ram.”
Following Zameer’s formal complaint, authorities have registered a First Information Report (FIR), and a probe has been initiated to trace and apprehend the offenders involved in this alleged communal attack.
The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from nearby locations and gathering eyewitness statements. Community members have called for a swift and unbiased investigation to ensure justice is served
