Bengaluru: A murder investigation in Bengaluru has taken a shocking turn after police arrested a 26-year-old woman and her boyfriend in connection with the deaths of her husband and four-year-old son.

The CCTV at the house had reportedly been switched off before the incident. When police began investigating, the woman initially claimed that she had no knowledge of what had happened at the family’s home on Monday morning.

Two days later, police alleged that she and her boyfriend had planned the murder of her husband and that their four-year-old son was killed after waking up and witnessing the attack.

Woman and boyfriend taken into custody

Police have taken A Harini, 26, and Vinay Kumar, 32, a factory worker, into custody for five days for further investigation.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police, North West, D L Nagesh, Harini and Vinay had allegedly been in a relationship for more than two years.

The police officer said the two had allegedly planned the attack on Harini’s husband, Abhinandan, 38, who worked for a private firm.

Relationship allegedly began through social media

DCP Nagesh said Harini and Vinay had come into contact through a social media application and had remained in a relationship for more than two years.

The police are now investigating the alleged motive behind the murder, the sequence of events inside the house and the circumstances surrounding the death of the child.

The accused are being questioned as investigators work to establish the complete chain of events and gather further evidence in the case.

The investigation is continuing.
