The Abhaya Bravery Award 2026, a platform dedicated to honouring courage, commitment and social impact, has opened nominations across India. The initiative seeks to recognise individuals whose work has inspired positive change in society through resilience, leadership and service.

Open to Indian residents aged 18 years and above, the awards are inclusive, with no bar on religion or caste. The selection process will involve three rounds of expert evaluation conducted by Team Abhaya, ensuring transparency and merit-based recognition.

The awards will recognise excellence across a wide spectrum of fields, including education, entrepreneurship and business, fashion and interior design, sports, cinema and television, social work, animal welfare, law, art and culture, cooking, healthcare, start-ups, journalism, information technology, real estate and other impactful domains.

The award ceremony is scheduled to be held in February or March 2026, around International Women’s Day, reinforcing the programme’s focus on courage, safety and empowerment.

The initiative is part of a women’s safety and empowerment programme of the Bangalore Sports Lovers Association and is initiated by Payel Sengupta.
