Bengaluru: A female teacher at a private nursery school in Bengaluru has been accused of sexually assaulting a three-year-old girl. The KG Halli police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the teacher under the Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act following a complaint from the girl’s father.
The incident came to light when the girl’s parents took her to the hospital after she complained of a stomach ache on Wednesday night. During the medical examination, doctors discovered blood stains in her innerwear. The hospital, treating it as a medico-legal case, sent a circular about the incident, which preceded the formal complaint from the girl’s father.
“The hospital sent a notification, and later the father registered the complaint on Thursday. We have taken up a case and have launched a probe,” an investigator in the case told Deccan Herald.
When questioned about inappropriate touching, the child nodded her head and mentioned the teacher’s name, prompting her father to file the complaint.
The police have not yet made an arrest, as they are conducting a preliminary investigation to verify the details of the case. The investigator mentioned that there were some suspicions that needed to be clarified before proceeding with the arrest.
