Bengaluru police arrested a Paying Guest (PG) accommodation owner on Sunday for allegedly posting the phone number of a woman online, claiming that she is a ‘call girl.’ The woman filed a police complaint against the accused after she received numerous enquiries about sex work.

According to the report in Times of India, the accused, identified as Anand Sharma, 30, is a resident of Bengaluru’s Rajajinagar and runs V—Stayz PG in Shivanand Circle. A few days ago, a woman approached him for accommodation. After paying the advance, the woman found the property unsatisfactory and requested a refund. When Sharma refused, she posted a negative review about his PG stay. In retaliation, Sharma reportedly shared her contact number online as a sex worker.

The woman received continuous calls and subsequently filed a complaint at the East CEN police station. The police investigation tracked the IP address, identifying Sharma as the perpetrator. Sharma confessed to the crime, and his mobile phone was seized. He is currently in judicial custody.
