The Bengaluru police have received intelligence that terrorists are planning to carry out acts of vandalism during the Independence Day celebrations in the city. As a result, all police departments have been instructed to be extra vigilant during this time.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is scheduled to hoist the flag at Nagar Manik Shah Maidan on August 15, and sources have indicated that militants have targeted the parade and related programs. In light of this information, citizens are advised to exercise extra caution and report any suspicious activity to the police.
City Police Commissioner B. Dayananda has written a letter to the Hotel Owners’ Association requesting their cooperation in monitoring suspicious individuals, foreigners, and strangers staying in hotels. Additionally, residential property owners are urged to obtain identification documents from those staying in their properties. The respective Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) have been directed to increase vigilance in sensitive areas around Independence Day celebrations by checking CCTV cameras at important locations and enhancing patrolling.
Police officers have also been instructed to arrest any suspicious individuals found during this period. The public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any unusual activity or behavior as a precautionary measure to ensure safety during Independence Day celebrations in Bengaluru.
